Un petit bout d’histoire:
Les Galeries royales Saint-Hubert de Bruxelles forment un passage commercial couvert en arcades vitrées se composants de la Galerie de la Reine (de la rue du Marché aux Herbes à la rue des Bouchers),de la Galerie du Roi (de la rue des Bouchers à la rue d’Arenberg), de la Galerie des Princes(de la Galerie du Roi à la rue des Dominicains)
Elles sont l’œuvre de l’architecte Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, inaugurées en 1847 par Léopold 1er.
Les Galeries abritent quelque 50 boutiques de luxe et environ 70 appartements privés tous loués depuis 1850. Le succès des passages à l’époque n’est pas lié au fait qu’ils permettent d’éviter les rues (souvent dépourvues de trottoirs, creusés d’une rigole centrale et très encombrées), qu’au système multifonctionnel qu’ils instaurent, propice à la soif de dépense et de parade, à la vie intellectuelle et politique.
Ce type de monument destiné au commerce de luxe célébrait l’avènement du capitalisme bourgeois, de la modernité et du progrès. Les Galeries deviennent rapidement le rendez-vous des Bruxellois de la bonne société après leur promenade quotidienne.
En concevant pour la première fois dans le monde un passage aux dimensions de la rue, Cluysenaar a créé un lieu qui est devenu un lien entre les différentes fonctions de la ville : espaces culturels, habitats, commerces, restaurants et cafés s’y côtoient depuis plus de 150 ans. C’est dans la Galerie du Roi, au numéro 7, que prospérait à la belle époque le journal La Chronique. C’est dans une salle de ce journal, au premier étage, qu’eut lieu le 1er mars 1896, soit quelques semaines seulement après celles de Paris, la première séance publique du cinématographe Lumière ou l’on put y voir notamment « L’arroseur arrosé », « le repas de bébé » et « le train entrant en gare »
Aujourd’hui encore, les Galeries sont animées par 6 millions de passants par an. Le passage est tout à la fois un microcosme, un lieu de mémoire et de création, où passé, présent et futur se mêlent inextricablement. Voila exactement l’esprit que Double One et Bshop veulent conserver.
Concept et marques représentées :
Les marques les plus prestigieuses, présentées différemment … Quand le passé rencontre l’avenir, quand l’argentique rencontre le numérique, quand l’art rencontre la technique … Voila ce qui caractérise au mieux l’esprit de Bshop….
Bshop proposera la gamme complète de la prestigieuse marque allemande LEICA. Du Leica V-Lux 30 au Leica M9-P ainsi que l’éventail des accessoires seront disponible en magasin et en démonstration.
Le Leica S2 et l’ensemble des optiques et accessoires feront également leurs apparitions afin de compléter le panel… le paradis pour nos amis Leicaistes.
Ce nouvel espace sera également consacré à la marque japonaise Nikon. Encore une fois la gamme complète sera présente.
Outre ces deux géants de l’industrie photographique, les optiques ZEISS seront également mises à l’honneur ainsi que les trépieds Gitzo, les filtres B+W et les vestes Manfrotto.
L’équipe de vente sera renforcée par l’arrivée de Jean-Pierre Bris. Photographe passionné, Jean-Pierre a tenu une boutique photo dans le tournaisis pendant plusieurs années et a également travaillé pour de Beukelaer. Nikoniste et Leicaiste, Jean-Pierre sera présent aux côtés d’Alessandra, membre du jury de Double One et gérante de ce nouveau point de vente.
Galerie photos :
Galerie d’Art, dédiée entièrement à la photographie, rendez-vous des genres et des styles, ouverte aux passionnés et aux chevronnés, mélange de classique et d’avant garde !
Double One est le nom retenu pour cette nouvelle galerie photo, double clin d’œil à la fois à la société mère Double You Shop ainsi qu’à l’adresse de cette dernière, 11 Galerie du Roi.
Cette nouvelle galerie allouera un espace suffisant pour une vingtaine de tirages. Un magnifique escalier d’époque vous emmènera dans les caves voutées situées sous le magasin.
Double One proposera des expositions temporaires mettant à l’honneur amateurs et professionnels. Une exposition annuelle soumettra aux visiteurs les meilleurs clichés sélectionnés par un jury « made in Double You shop-Bshop.
